According to latest reports, various clubs including Middlesbrough have made an enquiry about Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo. The 21-year-old is currently part of the preseason camp but when the season comes, the Englishman is likely to find it hard to get game time and will most probably ply his trade in the Premier league 2 for the Reds.
Middlesbrough will be looking to improve further after failing to make it to the Premier League even after qualifying for the playoffs. Tony Pulis will know that he will need to bring more of an attacking and creative threat to his team as his side laboured to create chances in the playoff semifinals against Aston Villa.
The Teessiders are finding it tough to keep hold of their winger Adama Traore who is constantly being linked with a move away from the club. Maybe they are targeting the Liverpool winger as an out and out replacement for him.
Last season, Ojo spent his time with Fulham where he was part of the squad which got promoted to the Premier League via winning the playoffs. The 21-year-old made 22 appearances in the Championship and managed a return of 4 goals and 2 assists.
The Liverpool winger is capable of playing down the left wing as well but is at his best down the right. He is known for his electrifying pace and dribbling skills, though, he needs to fine-tune them further to utilise it better. The Englishman has represented the Three Lions at various youth levels, having started his career with MK Dons before moving to Liverpool in 2011 where he slowly took his game a notch higher.
Klopp recently gave an indication that the Reds are done with their transfer business and it is expected that now they will think about a mass clear out from the club including Ojo. Given the talent the Merseyside club has in the attacking third, it would be next to impossible for the 21-year-old to get any game time at the senior level for the club. A move to the Championship will definitely be more helpful for the Reds and the player.

From Boro’s point of view, Ojo is still a work in progress and losing Traore will be a huge loss for them. The winger has made 13 senior team appearances for the Reds over the years and maybe it’s time for the young starlet to start his career elsewhere. Liverpool should not have any qualms about letting him go as they are brimming with attacking talent.
