West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa are hoping to secure the signature of Rangers midfielder Josh Windass this summer. According to recent reports, both the Baggies and the Villans are interested in sealing a move for the English talent during this summer transfer period. It is believed that the Gers are looking for a fee in the region of £3m for their prized asset.
The West Midlands side are eager to make a swoop of his services in the coming weeks before the transfer window slams shut next month. However, Darren Moore’s team are not the only ones looking to recruit him and will face stiff competition from Aston Villa in pursuit of the 24-year-old’s signature.
With Windass set to leave the Ibrox Stadium, let’s take a look at three replacements for Rangers manager Steven Gerrard to consider in this off-season.
Óscar Estupiñán
The 21-year-old wonderkid had put in some marvellous performances for Vitória Guimarães SC during the course of the last campaign. The Colombian prospect had registered 11 goals and notched up with 7 assists in 33 matches for the Portuguese outfit last season. Gerrard can definitely bolster his attacking options by making a move for the South American starlet in the near future. Just like Windass, he can operate in multiple positions across the frontline which makes him a perfect fit for the Teddy Bears.
Thierry Ambrose
The Dutch Eredivisie sensation has been in a rich vein of form for NAC Breda last season and is exactly the kind of attacking talent who could flourish under the guidance of Steven Gerrard at the Ibrox Stadium. The French ace had featured in 31 matches for Breda in the last campaign, finding the back of the net 10 times while securing 6 assists in all competitions. At the mere age of 21, Ambrose has a lot of potential to be developed into a future star in Scottish football if given the chance to prove his worth in Glasgow.

Jordan Siebatcheu
If the Teddy Bears are looking to opt for a more long-term approach, they could definitely make a move to snap up this talented winger. The Stade Reims attacker had lit up the Ligue 2 with some exceptional performances during the course of last season. The 21-year-old starlet had made 36 appearances for the French side last term, scoring 17 goals while putting up 7 assists across all competitions. Siebatcheu has massive potential which Gerrard’s side could look to benefit from, in the next few campaigns.
