Everton are looking to bolster their club ranks by adding FC Girondins de Bordeaux winger, Malcom. Marco Silva is yet to make an addition to the club since being appointed as the club’s manager. The Spaniard is looking to implement a 4-3-3 lineup in the coming season and that would require the pacey presence of a young prolific wide man, exactly like Malcom.
Despite not making additions to the side, Silva and Director of Football, Marcel Brands has trimmed some of the fat by selling Funes Mori to Villareal. Wayne Rooney’s giant contract has also been waived off the books through a free transfer to DC United. Conor Grant and Joel Robles has followed the veteran striker out of the Goodison and Henry Onyekuru has found a temporary home in Galatasaray.
The Toffees are looking to reduce their squad further and are currently shopping Yannick Bolasie around. They are eager to move him to Fenerbahce SK on loan for the upcoming season in order to open up a spot for Malcom.
Bolasie made a long-awaited return to the pitch last season after going down to a horrific injury in his debut season with Everton. Unfortunately, the 29-year-old struggled to find his past form under Sam Allardyce and managed a single goal in 16 Premier League games.
Such was not the plan when Everton had sanctioned a £25m transfer for the winger back in the summer of 2016. Bolasie was a prolific star at Crystal Palace with 13 goals and 20 assists registered in a staggering 144 appearances.
He bags quite a considerable amount every week with his contract which is still set to run for another 3 seasons. Unfortunately for Silva’s plans, the DR Congo international does not wish to move to Turkey and abandon his young family in London.
A move to Turkey could serve as a chance to prove himself again but Bolasie wants to keep his place in the English top-flight. With Malcom expected to cost Everton £30m initially and £80,000 weekly, Bolasie might be forced out of the club as the Toffees looks towards staking their claim on one of the European qualification spots next term.
The high investment strategy has not worked as well as Farhad Moshiri had hoped and Silva is expected to change that. That would require for him to get rid of all unnecessary personnel and signing more able professionals in their place.
