Liverpool‘s young sensation Rhian Brewster has finally put pen to paper and has committed his long-term future at Anfield. England’s star at the u-17 World Cup was being linked with a move away from the club. However, the Reds have ensured that they won’t lose their young prodigy anytime soon.
Brewster has been doing exceptionally well at the youth level and was the top scorer in the u-17 World Cup which England won in India. At Liverpool as well, his scoring record in the youth level is second to none and Liverpool would have dreaded to see their 18-year-old star leave the club for nothing.
The player is undergoing rehabilitation from an ankle ligament injury which he suffered in January and as a result, he missed the second half of the last season. The player seemed delighted after committing his future at the Merseyside club. After signing the contract he said,” It feels great. I’ve wanted to do this for a very long time now and I think it’s the right moment for me and my family. I’m looking forward to getting back fit and making some appearances.”
He further added,”Since I got here the club has been amazing to me and treated me like family. It seems like I’ve been here my whole life, to be honest. It’s coming up to my fifth season now. I [still] remember my first training session. It’s amazing and I can’t wait to get started.”
Brewster was named on the bench in Liverpool’s senior squad but is yet to make an appearance for them. His debut will soon be coming in the upcoming season as he is set to be part of the senior squad. The Englishman can be classified as a traditional no 9 striker but he has other factors to his game which makes him stand out.
His link-up play is top notch and he always racks up a healthy tally of assists along with scoring goals. In the Premier League 2, he made 19 appearances last term and managed a haul of 8 goals and 8 assist which means he was directly involved in 16 goals for his side in 19 games. He has decent aerial abilities as well and if he continues working hard, he will surely be a superstar in the future.

However, Brewster will find it tough to get regular game time in the playing eleven as the club has been doing well up front. The Merseyside outfit has one of the deadliest attacking trios in the word and breaking into the first eleven will be tough. The likes of Dominic Solanke and Danny Ings are also waiting in the wings to get a look in into the first team. Brewster will have to be content with appearances from the bench or in various domestic cup competitions in his first senior season at Liverpool.
