Nordin Amrabat’s time in the Premier League and at Watford comes to a close as the Moroccan international packs his luggage and heads to the terminal as he departs Vicarage Road and looks forward to the challenges that lay before him at Saudi Arabia. The DailyMail claims Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr have swooped the former Leganes winger away on a three-year deal worth £4m.
Amrabat’s stint as a Hornet can be termed as one to forget as the winger managed to make 44 appearances and failed to score a single goal at his time there. He was sent on a year-long loan to Spanish side Leganes where he was a slightly more successful having made a total of 35 appearances and bagged 3 goals to his name. Leganes avoided the relegation drop and Amrabat’s loan stint came to a conclusion.
With a never say die spirit and the ability to brush off a challenge, Amrabat can also be used as a playmaker, however, he was primarily deployed as a winger, the position he most preferred. The Moroccan is quick with his feet and uses his physicality well, something which he learned to inculcate into his game when playing in the Premier League.
Watford have Andre Gray, Richarlison and Gerard Deulofeu placed ahead of the Moroccan in the pecking order and that would see Amrabat struggle to find more game time considering he is now well past the 30 mark. Regular game time will not be obtained at Watford and the decision to jump ship will prove to be a wise one. Watford should look to make new recruits as back up to fill the void left by the Moroccan superstar if they are to mount a challenge in the domestic cup competitions.

At Al Nassr, Amrabat will be able to fade away from the limelight and disappear into the uncertainty of making another appearance at a European club. Pressure will be off of his shoulders to perform at a high level, however, passing on his experience and knowledge to the young and upcoming players will be vital for the Saudi Arabian based club.
