Cardiff City are interested in securing the signature of Leeds United midfielder Ronaldo Vieira this summer. According to recent reports, the Bluebirds are planning to make a move for the Peacocks talent during this summer transfer period. It is believed that the Welsh club are weighing up an offer in the region of £8m for the English talent.
A report by the Sun (dated on the 15 of June, Page-59), claims that Cardiff boss Neil Warnock is eager to seal a move for the Bissau-born prospect ahead of the new season. Vieira made his debut at Elland Road under Steve Evans but really came into prominence as a regular starter under Garry Monk.
The English midfielder had a mixed season for the West Yorkshire side last season as the club struggled to find form. He still managed to put in some impressive performances during the course of the last campaign which has not gone unnoticed by other clubs.
Vieira had featured in 32 matches for the Peacocks last season, scoring one goal while creating three assists in all competitions. He is exactly the kind of player who can flourish in the English top-flight under the expert stewardship of Neil Warnock at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The West Yorkshire club had another mediocre campaign in the last campaign and will need to make some clever signings in this off-season if they are to compete for a promotion place next term. Retaining some of their top players like Vieira can go a long way in helping them challenge on all fronts in the coming years.
Marcelo Bielsa cannot afford to let go of the English midfielder as he has already proven his value to the Leeds team last season. Having said that, the Argentine manager can definitely look to use the money generated from his sale to strengthen other areas of his squad.

If Leeds do end up parting ways with the midfielder, then they will need to bring in a suitable replacement capable of filling Vieira’s shoes before the start of the new season. Bielsa needs to devise a transfer plan and work accordingly so that the club is in a position to make the best out of this situation. Only time will tell what lies ahead in the future of Vieira and whether he ends up making a switch to Wales this summer.
