As per latest reports, there is still a possibility that Rangers can get Dominic Solanke at Ibrox on a season-long loan. The young English forward struggled to establish himself in his first season at Anfield after he moved from Chelsea for greener pastures.
He had to be content with sporadic appearances for Liverpool last campaign, however, he struggled to find goals whenever he was on the pitch and managed just one goal in 27 appearances. Most of his appearances came from the bench and he didn’t look like scoring or creating goals whenever he was on the pitch.
The striker is being touted as a future superstar and has already represented England at the senior level. Solanke is a traditional No.9 as he is strong on the ball and has an eye for goal. The Gers were linked with him initially, however, the rumours soon died down as they went on to sign Umar Sadiq from AS Roma on loan. The rumour mill is again picking up now and speculations are rife that there is still a chance that the English forward can play under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox the next season.
Teddy Bear striker Alfredo Morelos has been linked with a move away from the club after just one impressive season. However, Gerrard will be keen to hold on to him as the Colombian gives him a focal point of attack. The Gers were prolific in front of goal last campaign as they managed to score the most number of goals in the Scottish Premiership. Their defence let them down as they had the worst defensive record for any of the top 7 side. As a result, they ended up finishing third.
The pressure will be on the new gaffer to deliver the goods and he has taken some big strides in the transfer market by bringing in various players. Signing Solanke will certainly be a huge boost for the Gers, however, the Reds might be keen to hold on to him as he has a huge amount of potential. Their other striker Danny Ings is being linked with a move away from the club so Solanke will be in the plans for Klopp as Liverpool look to win something substantial in the upcoming season.

Rangers’ chances look remote to land the young striker and given the fact that they have already signed someone like Sadiq, it looks like a far-fetched rumour. So it is likely that the young Englishman will stay at Anfield in the upc0ming season.
