Jurgen Klopp has made some huge strides at Anfield in the last couple of seasons but certain areas in the squad are still pegging the club down. They lost the Champions League final last season due to some goalkeeping errors, just a couple of years after losing a League Cup final due to similar issues.
The German tactician is not one to take reactionary decisions but the club’s goalkeeping issues have seen him scout for potential players who can walk into the first team next season. One such player, they are still interested in is AS Roma star Alisson Becker.
The Reds have Loris Karius as their first choice but the German has shown no progress since his performance in Kyiv, displaying weakness time and again, in pre-season and also in training. Simon Mignolet has already lost his place in the first team and could even be shown the exit door this summer.
Welsh international Danny Ward has decent potential and though it was suggested that Klopp is happy to try Ward as his first choice next season, reports now reveal that Liverpool are ready to make a fresh offer for Alisson this week.
The Brazilian ace is also wanted by Real Madrid and Chelsea this summer. While the Spanish giants have offered around €50m, the Blues have reportedly offered Roma €60m for Alisson. And it is now understood that Liverpool are ready to submit an official offer of €65m, to try and land him in this transfer window.
It is also suggested that Roma want close to €70m to let him leave. So should Liverpool improve their offer? Is Alisson worth all the hype? Just a couple of years ago, the 25-year old acted as a backup to Wojciech Szczęsny but in the last season, he truly announced himself to European football. He showed confidence with his passing and distribution, but more importantly, his positioning and ability to grab crosses in the air have earned him a reputation as one of the best in his role.
He replaced Ederson in the national team for the World Cup and has huge potential and is one of the very few players who can solve the impending issues in goal at Anfield.

He did show some weaknesses in recent times but the AS Roma man is certainly a player who will allow Klopp to turn his attention away from the problems at the back for the Reds. However, at €65-€70m, do you think he is worth his price tag?
