Reports in Italy suggest that Arsenal target Aleksandr Golovin is keen to move to Serie A holders Juventus. The English club has been linked with the Russian international for quite some time now and even last year they were linked with one of Russia’s biggest talent. However, it seems like they are set to lose their grip on the player as he has his heart set on a move to Juventus.
Even Chelsea are in the race to sign him but now with Juventus coming into the picture, both Premier League clubs are likely to lose out on him. Golovin impressed with his performances in the World Cup as Russia managed their best-ever finish as they got to the last eight of the tournament and only bowed out to Croatia on penalties.
Golovin was a constant creative threat to his opposition and he ended the campaign with one goal and 2 assists in four games. At CSKA Moscow as well, he is their main driving force in midfield and he is the one who provides a spark of magic from midfield. The Russian will surely be attracted towards the prospect of playing with Cristiano Ronaldo and that will certainly be a great overall learning experience for the 22-year-old.
Last season, Golovin managed seven goals and six assists. He surely improved his stock further after a good World Cup and Arsenal will be mulling over potentially missing out on him. He is still just 22 and yet to reach his full potential. The midfielder is one of the brightest talents to come out of Russia in recent times and it is not long before he plays in some of the best leagues of the world. Juve might be the favourites to sign him but Arsenal still seems keen on a deal. The Italian outfit made a massive coup by acquiring Cristiano Ronaldo earlier and they have set the ball rolling in the transfer market.
Arsenal are looking for a new beginning under Unai Emery and the club is relatively well covered in the central midfield position. They have acquired a more conservative midfielder in Lucas Torreira and it is likely that he will partner Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka in the midfield area.

Golovin could have been that creative player in midfield to unlock the defence but Arsenal does have someone like Henrikh Mkhitaryan for that role. Missing out on Golovin will not be that big a loss for the Gunners, however, the Russian sure has the potential to be a future superstar.
