Manchester United are yet to win the Premier League after the tenure of Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho is now desperate to make sure that they can push their rivals Manchester City in the title race next season. However, the Portuguese manager is not totally convinced with the squad at his disposal and continues to be linked with a number of players, to improve particular areas in his squad.
He wants to add a centre-back to his first team this summer and has been linked with the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Clement Lenglet in recent weeks. However, the latest name added to the list is Harry Maguire.
The English international started his senior career with Sheffield United but played in the Premier League for the first time with Hull City. He was relegated with the Tigers twice in three years, and left the club the second time, joining Leicester City for just £17m last summer.
Maguire turned into a first team star immediately, starting every game for the Foxes in the league. He made his debut for the Three Lions last year and was picked in the first team at the World Cup by Gareth Southgate. The 25-year old did not disappoint, putting in some brave performances, and also scoring in the game against Sweden.
Strong in the air and confident with the ball at his feet, Maguire is perfect for the English Premier League. His understanding of the game in front of him, and his mental toughness make him a solid defender and it does not come as a surprise that he is wanted by Manchester United.
He already has 70 Premier League appearances to his name and in Russia, showed that he is ready for the biggest of occasions. He is destined to join a top club in the country and the Red Devils have now registered their interest in the player. Reports suggest that United are ready to pay up to £50m, after his displays in the World Cup and Mourinho could use Maguire as the first choice defender, alongside Eric Bailly next season.

Maguire replaced Chris Smalling and Phil Jones in the England first team recently and will do the same at Old Trafford. At just 25, he can be a real asset in both boxes, and though his transfer price might be a bit steep, he is definitely a risk worth taking for the Red Devils.
