Leeds United are hoping to seal a loan move for Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson this summer. According to recent reports, the Peacocks are among a whole host of clubs looking to take the Reds winger on a season-long loan deal during this summer transfer period.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s side has adopted the policy of fining clubs if they fail to meet the criteria of playing their loanees for a certain number of games. It was reported earlier that the Merseyside outfit slapped Bristol City with a whopping £500,000 fine for not playing Ryan Kent play more often. The Reds starlet went out on loan at Ashton Gate but had featured in just 10 matches for the Robins last season.
The Peacocks will look to avoid the same fate if they are successful in bringing Wilson to Elland Road ahead of the new season. The 21-year-old prospect had found the back of the net 7 times while creating 4 assists in 13 matches in the English Championship last season. Wilson has a lot of potential to be a future star in England and Jurgen Klopp might decide to loan him out again this summer so that he can continue with his development somewhere else.
A loan move will definitely benefit the player as he looks to break into Klopp’s first-team plans in the near future. However, it won’t be easy for Leeds to prise him away from Anfield as they will face stiff competition from other Championship clubs in their pursuit of the Wrexham-born wide man’s signature in this post-season.
The West Yorkshire club had another underwhelming campaign last season and will need to make some clever acquisitions during the summer transfer window if they are to compete for a promotion place next season. The potential acquisition of Wilson will undoubtedly bolster Bielsa’s attacking options at Elland Road. The 21-year-old is exactly the kind of player who can light up the second tier of English football with his dazzling displays which is why the Peacocks should go all out to recruit him, even if it is on a temporary basis.
The Whites have some promising attacking talents such as Pablo Hernandez, Samuel Sáiz, Ezgjan Alioski, Hadi Sacko and Stuart Dallas competing for a starting berth in Bielsa’s senior team. The addition of Wilson will improve their side significantly and add more competition for places within the Leeds squad.

At the mere age of 21, the Liverpool wonderkid is extremely versatile and can operate on either flank or in the number 10 position which makes him a perfect fit for Bielsa’s West Yorkshire team. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Wilson and whether he ends up moving to Elland Road on a loan deal before the start of the new season.
