Watford and Bournemouth, both were promoted to the Premier League last season and had impressive seasons in the Premier League as they were never really dragged into the relegation scrap. This is the season when both teams should build on their status in the Premier League but neither have really managed to do so, at least until this point.
Watford had a poor start to their season under new boss Walter Mazzarri but bounced back with two back to back wins against West Ham and Manchester United.
After creating a fuss with the two big wins, they lost 2-0 to newly-promoted Burnley on Monday and have to start from the very beginning once again. On the other hand, Bournemouth are on the back of an impressive 1-0 win against in-form Everton and will be looking to impress once again as they travel to Vicarage Road on Saturday. Neither team look potential relegation battlers but whoever wins this game, will be a strong contender for a top-half finish.
Here is the predicted Watford lineup against Bournemouth.
Defence
We expect Walter Mazzarri to stick to his favoured 3-5-2 formation that gave him success in Italy. The team is yet to adjust to life under Walter Mazzarri and it is not an overnight process. We have seen Watford getting results but on an inconsistent basis this season and it’s only a matter of time before they get the right result.
We expect Prodl, Cathcart and Britos to start at the heart of the defence. Experienced keeper Gomes will start between the sticks.
Midfield
Etienne Capoue has been remarkable this season in the middle of the park having already scored four goals and managing one assist. The Frenchman will start in the middle of the park alongside Swiss international Valon Behrami. Behrami shares a very good working relationship with Mazzarri from their Napoli days and will be looking to impress.
Summer signing from Juventus Roberto Pereyra will start in the most advanced position of the midfield trio. The Argentine has done a good job at Vicarage Road so far with his creativity and flair in the middle of the park and will be looking to impress when he starts against Bournemouth. Amrabat and Holebas are likely to start on the flanks.
Attack
The striker pair will be Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney. Both have performed decently this season but in patches. With three goals and two assists between them so far, they will look to impress against Bournemouth who are not the best team defensively.
