Middlesbrough FC’s exciting winger Adama Traore could be sold as the Teessiders look to finance a move for other players. The 22-year-old former Barcelona winger has garnered a good amount of interest among Premier League clubs. Chelsea are said to be in the race to sign him and we can very much see him ply his trade for the London outfit next season.
Traore has had a previous stint in the Premier League with the Boro, however, he struggled to get going as he was still in the nascent stages of his career. Now, with some more experience, he is close to becoming the finished product and maybe at Stamford Bridge, he will be able to unleash his full potential.
The Riversiders are looking to finance moves for Matt Phillips and Albert Adomah. Phillips had played earlier under Tony Pulis for West Bromwich Albion and the veteran manager is a fan of the Scottish international. He can even play in the No. 10 role along with as a right winger so his versatility will be a good addition to Pulis’ squad.
Boro came close to qualifying for the playoff finals, however, they lost narrowly to Aston Villa in semi-final who in turn lost to Fulham in the final. Pulis will be aware that the expectation will again be high among Riverside faithful as they try to move back to the Premier League.
However, it won’t be easy as some established Premier League clubs like West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City will be favourites to go through. Even Swansea City won’t be far behind so the likes of Middlesbrough and other Championship clubs will have to pull up their socks.
Traore was one of the main attacking threats for Boro as he made 40 appearances in all competitions and managed 5 goals and 12 assists. He was a constant menace down the right wing given his bursting pace, however, he still needs to work on his end product as he often fluffs his line after getting into good positions. That thing will surely come with experience and for him to play in the Premier League again will certainly be a huge learning curve for him.

Pulis will be aware that this is the time when he can get most in terms of funds for the player so maybe cashing in on Traore and bringing in two able creative options won’t be a bad idea. However, fans might be susceptible to a move like that as they see Traore as one of the star players at the club.
