Aston Villa missed out on promotion to the top flight at the very last stage earlier this year but Steve Bruce seems determined to make sure that his side can take a step further this year. The Villains have a decent squad at their disposal but a couple of their star players are now attracting interests from the top flight.
One such player, inching towards an exit is Jack Grealish. Crippled by Financial Fair Play regulations, Aston Villa are now in urgent need of raising some funds and Steve Bruce has now accepted that he might have to let go of his prized possession in Grealish.
It is understood that Villa have to raise up to £40m before the end of the summer and are happy for Tottenham Hotspur to spend big on Grealish, who is their top transfer target and solve Villa’s problems. However, the 22-year old is a huge loss for Villa and here are three players they can sign, to replace him in the side next season:
Ben Woodburn (Liverpool):
Though not as established as Grealish, the Welsh starlet at Liverpool can certainly replace the creativity of the 22-year old in the first team next season. Jurgen Klopp wants to assess his progress in the pre-season before sending him out on loan but Aston Villa can lure him to Villa, with a promise of regular game time. At just 18, Woodburn needs a platform to prove himself and a move to Villa could be the start of his promising career.
Andreas Pereira (Manchester United):
Another player who could be available on loan this summer is Brazilian star Pereira. The 22-year old joined Manchester United’s academy in 2011 and broke into the first team in 2014. However, he spent the last season on loan at Valencia registering a goal and five assists in all competitions. He needs some game time in the English league and Aston Villa could use him in their first team regularly, giving him some exposure. It is unclear if he will be sent out on loan again, but if he is, Villa should be all over this deal.

Jeremie Boga (Chelsea):
Finally, Aston Villa can also loan a star player from Chelsea in Boga, as a replacement for Grealish. At just 21, the Ivory Coast international has already played for four different clubs and spent the last season on loan at Birmingham. He is back at Stamford Bridge but does not look like he has a place in the first team, leaving him searching for another loan spell. He can fill Grealish’s void and could be a match winner for Villa in the upcoming campaign.
