Gelson Martins has been a target for Arsenal in the recent times, however, latest reports are suggesting that the player can make his way to Atletico Madrid and Portuguese media is saying that the deal has been confirmed. The deal is said to be worth €15m and also involves two Atletico Madrid youngsters going the other way and joining the Portuguese outfit Sporting CP, the players being Luciano Vietto and André Moreira.
These reports will come as a massive blow to Unai Emery as he prepares his squad for the upcoming season. The team currently lacks a feasible option in the attacking department and one can only classify Alex Iwobi as the outright winger in the squad. That is certainly astonishing to see that a club of Arsenal’s calibre doesn’t have many options down the wide region and signing a winger can be termed as a topmost priority for the club.
Martins would have been a decent addition, though, it would have been interesting to see how the Portuguese would have flourished in the English Premier League. The player has an abundance of pace and skill which allows him to go past his defenders with ease. However, he still needs to add some end product to his game as he often comes out with nothing after getting in good positions. However, with Atletico Madrid close to getting their man, we look at three possible alternatives the Gunners can go after.
Wilfried Zaha
The Ivory Coast international was termed as a flop at Manchester United but his career has found a new gear with Crystal Palace, Last season he really came on his own as he helped the Eagles to survive the Premier League with relative comfort. Zaha can be termed similar to Martins when he was younger, however, Zaha has brought end product to his game and is often able to find the right pass in a crunch situation. He will be a great option for Arsenal given the fact that he has a good amount of experience in the Premier League.
Julian Brandt
The 22-year-old is one of Germany’s budding stars and he made shockwaves around the world recently as he was picked ahead of Leroy Sane for the World Cup. One can’t say the decision was justified but Brandt has special talents which Arsenal can make use of.

Suso
The AC Milan winger has slowly come into his own in the past few seasons. He has established himself as a crucial member of their squad after he failed to make a name for himself at Liverpool. Maybe Arsenal can provide him with a second chance in the Premier League to show his worth now that he is close to being a finished product.
