When a team like Real Madrid comes calling, it is hard to turn a deaf ear. Chelsea’s star forward Eden Hazard once again finds himself tipped to joining the Spanish Giants, despite Zinedine Zidane stepping down as head coach of Real.
While on international duty for Belgium at the FIFA World Cup Finals, reports of the Belgium Ace exchanging a blue shirt for a white one come the end of the transfer window has sparked concern among those related to the London based club.
Eden Hazard was open to admit that signing for Madrid would be a dream turned into reality for any player. He, however, also admitted that no official offers had come his way and that he is still very much settled with life in London.
“Zidane is someone special, it’s true, but I think Real is everyone’s dream. Zidane or no Zidane, the white jersey is special but the blue jersey (with regards to Chelsea) suits me well so it does not bother me if I stay.”
Chelsea will suffer a major set back if they cannot keep hold of Hazard. A player of his quality is like a rare gem which is not easily available. Hazard is irreplaceable on the pitch and the responsibility to carry Chelsea forward will fall to those such as the likes of Willian and Pedro. The Blues do have the likes of Charly Musonda, Callum Hudson Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in their ranks. These players, despite their perceived potential, have a long way to go if they are to match the quality and winning mentality Hazard delivers when wearing the Blue of Chelsea.
The West London outfit has been in a continuous transition period ever since Jose Mourinho was given the boot during his first reign with the club. Despite all the success they have achieved since Jose’s departure, Chelsea have failed to build a base on which they can grow on. Countless managers have come and gone, yet every season seems like a hit or miss for the West London team.

Chelsea must look to building a team around Hazard in order to keep the Belgium captain happy and provide him with the ability to get his hands on more silverware. Current boss Antonio Conte has done a good job with providing Chelsea with a base but his hard work may yet be undone if he is made to depart. The Blues have a tremendous youth academy but fail to incorporate those young players into their senior squad as managers are under pressure to perform continuously. Patience is a virtue and Chelsea seem to lack that presently.
