Having already completed the capture of Naby Keita and Fabinho, and extending deals for the Brazilian maestro Roberto Firmino and the Egyptian legend Mohamed Salah at Anfield, Liverpool are now looking to capture the signing of Paulo Dybala from Juventus.
A rejuvenated Liverpool squad led my Jurgen Klopp secured a 4th place finish to their league campaign and reached the finals of the Champions League only to stumble during the last 90minutes of play, handing the title to Real Madrid.
Juventus signed Dybala from Palermo and helped him develop into the player he is today. The little Argentine possesses a venomous left foot and can add more flair and firepower to the Liverpool front line. He will give competition to Sadio Mane and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain for a starting place in the Reds first XI.
Dybala is primarily deployed as a second striker. He is versatile and can also fill in the positions of an attacking midfielder or centre-forward. He made a total of 48 appearances for Juventus last season, clinching 26 goals and creating 5 assists. He also averaged a pass success percentage of 87.5 whilst taking an average of 3.5 shots per game.
Having won the Serie A for the 7th consecutive season Juventus would like to stretch the record to eight. They claimed their 13th Coppa Italia and finished runners-up in their quest for the Supercoppa Italiana. Dybala played an integral part in what can definitely be considered as a successful season.
Holding on to Dybala will be key, as finding a replacement for the Argentine will be a tough ask for the Bianconeri. Someone with Dybala’s calibre is an asset for any team! He is fearless on the ball and his ability to pick out a final pass is quite extraordinary. He can be lethal from set pieces and takes fine penalties as well.
Liverpool, despite all their attacking options, lacks a strong commander in the heart of the defence. They continue to concede goals and Klopp will have to look for the right solution to strengthen the defence. Signing Dybala will be viewed as a serious statement of content from the Merseyside club. If they are successful in their capture of a proven shot-stopper, the opposition will find breaching the Liverpool defence a tough act to accomplish.
