Cardiff City will be preparing to take on the challenges of the Premier League and they have already started to make some moves in the transfer market. Neil Warnock and Co. have completed another signing as they sealed the deal for Derby County‘s midfielder Craig Bryson who spent last season on loan with the Bluebirds.
The 31-year-old played a good part in their push towards Premier League qualification as he made 27 appearances in all competitions. It is believed that Neil Warnock is a fan of what the Scottish midfielder has to offer and he feels that he can be an important player for him in the English top flight.
The player is currently away in a pre-season training camp in Tenerife with the Rams under their new manager Frank Lampard. It seems that the former England international didn’t have any issues in letting the player go. If the reports are to be believed then Derby have accepted a £1.75m bid for the midfielder.
Cardiff have already wrapped up the signings of Josh Murphy, Greg Cunningham, Bobby Reid and Alex Smithies. It seems that Neil Warnock means business and the veteran manager will be aware that his real test will be to keep Cardiff in the Premier League. For that to happen, they need to bring in more depth to their squad and Bryson will go in a long way in providing that to the Bluebirds.
The midfielder is a veteran after featuring in 245 games in the Championship but is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see how he will cope up with the challenges of the English top flight in the latter stages of his career. The Scotsman has been with Derby County since 2011 and has played a crucial part for them until the last season.
Warnock can use Bryson as a utility player as he can play in the role of a central midfielder, defensive midfielder and even operate down the right flank. The player is known for his tenacity, perseverance and impressive work rate which makes him a useful man to have in the middle of the park. He might not be a technically gifted footballer but he makes up for it by doing the hard yards on the pitch.

The 31-year-old will most likely be used as a backup option by Neil Warnock as the Premier League will test his squad’s depth to the core.
