Tottenham Hotspur are looking to seal a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer. According to recent reports, the North London club are interested in securing the signature of the French talent during this summer transfer period. The 23-year-old was excluded from Didier Deschamps’ France squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
However, in the latest edition of France Football, there was a big feature on Rabiot that claimed that the midfielder refused to include his name on a list of reserves, which led to a mass outrage in France. It is expected that the French midfielder will be booed by the crowds next season if he chooses to remain in the French capital. Hence, a departure from Parc des Princes might be the best solution for all parties.
Some sources are now claiming that Spurs are looking to offer him an escape route out of French football. However, the North Londoners are not the only ones looking to recruit Rabiot with Barcelona and Juventus also keeping tabs on his situation at the Parisian club.
A report in France Football has also suggested that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is eager to seal a move for the French midfield enforcer as a replacement for Mousa Dembele, who is set to leave the club in the coming weeks. He is exactly the kind of midfielder who can help fill the void left by the Belgian if he does end up quitting White Hart Lane this summer.
The North London outfit managed to clinch a 3rd placed finish in the league last season but are in need of some quality players in this window so that they have a strong squad capable of competing on all fronts next term.
The addition of Rabiot will undoubtedly bolster Pochettino’s midfield options at White Hart Lane. Tottenham have the likes of Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama vying for a place in their starting XI. The potential acquisition of Rabiot will definitely improve their team significantly and add more competition for places within Pochettino’s squad.
