Latest rumblings in the transfer rumour mills suggest that Chelsea are considering a serious approach for Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic. The Blues have chosen the Bundesliga winger along with Daniele Rugani and Aleksandr Golovin as their top three targets for the 2018 summer transfer window.
With Maurizio Sarri yet to make his arrival to the Stamford Bridge official, it seems like Roman Abramovich is already taking into account what the former Napoli boss wants from him. Most of Chelsea’s transfer targets are reported to be advice passed on from Antonio Conte’s expected successor.
Pulisic certainly is a name to draw a number of eyes. The 19-year-old is one of the brightest talents to come out of the Bundesliga and is already touted to be a future star in Europe. He has put in remarkable displays over the course of the 2017/18 season to attract interest from some of the biggest clubs in world football. The winger is best suited to the left flank with the dominant right foot of his and often likes to cut inside to be more dominant on the attacking side. He can appear from the other wing and the central attacking midfield role as well.
Pulisic appeared in 42 games last term to score 5 goals while also setting up 3 assists. Blessed with a remarkable burst of pace on the wide areas, the Pennsylvania-born attacker enjoys taking on defenders on the dribble and creating plays on his own.
He has the technical ability and vision to take up a more creative role, judging by his last season performances after the departure of Ousmane Dembele. Chelsea are in desperate need of a player like Pulisic to replace Eden Hazard in the upcoming season.
While no confirmed talks have come out yet, the Belgian continues to be heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. At 27, he is at the very peak of his footballing career and is putting on a show for his country in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
He has yet to sign a contract extension with the Blues after the club’s failure to earn a place in next season’s Champions League. Hazard is one of the biggest pieces in the Chelsea ranks if not the biggest and his departure could have a catastrophic impact on the club.

Willian has also been linked with a move away from the Bridge, potentially leaving Chelsea highly depleted in the wing department. Pulisic could be the right figure to take over the responsibilities of the aforementioned duo.
