Wolves are interested in securing the services of Juventus forward Andrea Favilli this summer. According to recent reports, the West Midlands club are hoping to seal a move for the Italian striker during this summer period. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the Italian youngster have caught the eyes of Wolves chiefs as he prepares to begin his first campaign at Turin after plying his trade at Ascoli last season.
Faville had a mixed campaign last term when he registered 8 goals in 14 appearances but was also sidelined due to a cruciate ligament injury. The Italian starlet joined Juventus earlier this month for a fee believed to be in the region of €7.5m.
Some sources are now claiming that Wolves have made contact with Juventus over the possible transfer of Favilli to the Molineaux Stadium in this post-season. It has also been suggested that the Turin outfit will demand a fee in the region of £17m so that they can ensure a quick profit for the player.
At the tender age of 21, the Italian has incredible potential which he could look to fulfil under the expert guidance of Nuno Espirito Santo. Favilli needs regular first-team opportunities and it is increasingly likely that he won’t get it if he stays at the Juventus Stadium as he would compete with some world-beaters such as Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandžukić, Gonzalo Higuaín and Federico Bernardeschi.
Wolves managed to earn a promotion back to the English top-flight last season so they are in need of adding quality to their squad this summer if the West Midlands club are to compete with the best of England. The addition of Favilli will undoubtedly bolster Santo’s attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
The Premier League new boys have the likes of Raúl Jiménez, Ivan Cavaleiro, Hélder Costa and Léo Bonatini vying for a place in Santo’s first-team. The potential acquisition of Favilli will definitely improve their attack significantly and add more competition for places within the Wolves squad.
