West Bromwich Albion are plotting a move for Newcastle United wide man Rolando Aarons this summer. According to recent reports, the Baggies are interested in securing the services of the English speedster during the summer transfer period. It is believed that the West Midlands are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season in the English Championship and Aarons fits the bill perfectly.
The 22-year-old has had a frustrating time since his arrival at Tyneside from Bristol City in the summer of 2012. He has only featured in 27 matches for the Magpies first-team with most of his appearances coming from the bench. The Jamaican-born winger went out on loan to ply his trade in Italy for Hellas Verona in January. However, he was unable to help his side avoid relegation after making 11 appearances in the Serie A.
Some sources are now claiming that West Brom are eager to seal a move for Aarons and make him their first signing of the summer. He is exactly the kind of talent who could flourish at the Hawthorns if given the opportunity to showcase his talents in the second tier of English football. The Newcastle outcast has incredible potential which he could look to fulfil under Darren Moore at the West Midlands club.
The Magpies had a roller-coaster of a campaign last term with many highs and lows. Benitez’s team got dragged into the relegation dogfight earlier this year. However, they still managed to clinch a top-half finish in the league standings. The Spanish manager can’t afford to let go of their most talented players as it will significantly hamper the future of his squad ahead of the new campaign.
It is clear that Aarons is not a part of Benitez’s plans for the future so the Tynesiders could look to use the money generated from his potential sale to strengthen other areas of their squad, The Magpies need to develop a transfer strategy for the departure of Aarons and work accordingly. If Newcastle does end up parting ways with the former Bristol City starlet, then they would be required to bring in a suitable replacement who will have more of an influence in their first-team.

Aarons should definitely look to move on to greener pastures and a potential switch to the Hawthorns might be his option for the time being. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of the English playmaker and whether he ends up parting ways with the Magpies before the start of the new season.
