Celtic are interested in securing the services of Hull City right-back Moses Odubajo this summer. According to recent reports, the Hoops are prepared to revive the career of the English defender when he becomes a free agent next month. Some sources are now claiming that the Tigers star has held discussions with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers at the Bhoys’ training base in Austria over a potential switch to Parkhead. Infact, Odubajo was a surprise new face in the Celtic squad as they started their pre-season training in Austria yesterday.
Odubajo will soon become a free agent when his contract with Hull City expires at the end of this month. It is believed that there is a great chance for him to join the Scottish champions before the start of the new season as the Hoops look to maintain their dominance in the Scottish top-flight next term.
The English right-back, who can also play on a more advanced role down the right flank, made a promising start to his football career and was touted for great things until a serious knee injury in the Playoff Final derailed his career. He had a long injury layoff but now, the 24-year-old is back and looking for a new platform to revive his career.
Odubajo has confirmed that he will depart the KCOM Stadium this summer with Celtic, one of the clubs interested to recruit him in this post-season.
The Bhoys of Glasgow managed to earn a domestic treble last season but their performance in the UEFA Champions League was underwhelming, to say the least. The Scottish giants need to make some quality additions during this transfer period if they are to maintain their superiority over Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and other new contenders in the upcoming campaign.
The addition of Odubajo will undoubtedly bolster Rodgers’ defensive options at Parkhead. The Hoops has the likes of Kieran Tierney, Mikael Lustig and Jack Hendry vying for the right-back spot in Rodgers’ starting XI. The potential acquisition of Odubajo will definitely improve their team significantly and add more competition for places within the Celtic squad.

At 24, the Hull City star still has his best years ahead of him which the Glaswegian side could look to benefit from over the next few years. However, there is also a growing concern over whether Odubajo can cope with the pressure and high expectations at Celtic Park. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of the London-born fullback and whether he ends up sealing a move to Parkhead in the coming months.
