It is no secret that Pep Guardiola admires Leeds United‘s latest boss Marcelo Bielsa highly and he has often praised him for the influence he has had on the game of football. The Argentine tactician is likely to use their relationship to lure some of the Manchester City youth products as Guardiola will be aware that under the guidance of Bielsa, they will come out as much better players.
The latest Manchester City youngster who is being linked with a move to Elland Road is Tosin Adarabioyo. The defender has been with the Citizens since he was five and has slowly graduated towards the top level. When he was just 14, he made his debut for the u-18 side and at 16 he was captaining City’s u-18 team.
The centre-back made 12 appearances in the Premier League 2 and Guardiola even gave him a taste of some Champions League football last season as he made two appearances in relatively dead rubber encounters. City handed the youngster a new contract last season so it is evident that the Citizens coach and manager rate the defender highly.
However, it will be a tough task for him to get close to first-team football and as a result, Guardiola might look to move him on loan at Elland Road to gain some valuable experience.
The centre-back is considered matured beyond his age and has been seen as a leader at the back at youth level for his club. He has represented England at various youth level and the 20-year-old will be desperate for some game time to showcase his potential and talent to the world. The defender is considered as a long-term successor to Vincent Kompany and the Whites will certainly have a good prospect at their hand if they make a move for him.
Guardiola regards Bielsa as one of the best coaches in the World and it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see if he allows Adarabioyo to join the Peacocks. Leeds had a dismal season as they finished a dismal 13th and were shoddy at the back, to say the least.
