Wolves are lining up a move for Egyptian international Mahmoud Hassan this summer. According to recent reports, the West Midlands outfit are monitoring the progress of the Turkish Superlig winger ahead of a potential move during this summer transfer period.
The 23-year-old has been one of Egypt’s standout performers in the 2018 FIFA World Cup and his scintillating displays have caught the eyes of the Wolves chiefs. Some sources are now claiming that the Egyptian speedster, who is also known as “Trezeguet” due to his resemblance to the ex-France forward, is on Wolves’ radar as the Premier League newcomers look to build a strong enough squad capable of competing in the top tier of English football next season.
Hassan had a loan spell at Kasimpasa in Turkey and put in some impressive displays in the Superlig during the course of last season which has not gone unnoticed by other clubs. It is believed that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have triggered the player’s £4.5m release clause at his parent club Anderlecht. The same report also goes on to state that the West Midlands side has offered the Egyptian talent a £20,000 a week contract to try and lure him to the Molineaux Stadium.
However, Santo’s men could face stiff competition from Galatasaray, who are leading the chase to sign the Egyptian international in this post-season.
The Skybet Championship winners managed to earn a promotion back to the English top-flight last term but Santo still needs to recruit wisely during this ongoing transfer window if his team are to avoid the drop in the upcoming campaign.
The addition of Hassan will undoubtedly bolster their midfield options ahead of the new campaign. Wolves have a number of talented players such as Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota, Romain Saiss and Raul Jiminez vying for a starting berth in Santo’s first XI. The potential acquisition of Hassan will definitely improve their team significantly and add more competition for places within the Wolves squad.

At 23, the Egyptian wide man still has his best years ahead of him which the West Midlands club could look to benefit from, in the next few campaigns. Moreover, Hassan is extremely versatile and can operate on either flank or in the number 10 position which makes him a perfect fit for Santo’s men. Only time will tell what lies ahead in the future of Hassan and whether he ends up plying his trade in the Premier League before the start of the new season.
