Leeds United are reportedly looking into the prospects of AFC Bournemouth striker, Lewis Grabban. The Whites have appointed Marcelo Bielsa as their head coach who has started scouting for more additions ahead of the 2018/19 season.
The Argentine boss was quoted, “For the moment we are not intending to bring too many new faces in. From my point of view the club have plenty of players on the books who I believe we should keep. The club generally have 15 players more than we need and we still have four or five different positions where we need to strengthen.”
“We’ve got one or two youngsters coming through who will be useful in that respect, to add those to the squad as a whole, but we might need to add one or two experienced faces to that squad.”
Grabban could be the man to answer at least some of their scoring concerns from last season. The striker had cut his loan spell with Sunderland short midway into the 2017/18 season and was handed over another stint away to Aston Villa.
He impressed at Villa Park the last term by scoring 4 goals late in the campaign to help his side secure the 4th spot in the Championship. Steve Bruce even chose to field the striker during the playoffs.
The 30-year-old’s contract with the Cherries is set to end after another 12 months and multiple clubs are sniffing around for a transfer.
Grabban has been in prolific form in certain parts of the past season before hitting an injury snag during the Christmas period. He netted the ball 20 times in all around 38 appearances for the Black Cats and Aston Villa.
However, Bournemouth are currently very well equipped in the striker department and might not require the services of Grabban. Players like Jermain Defoe, Callum Wilson, Lys Mousset and Joshua King are getting the job done for Eddie Howe and the club is leaning towards making more quality additions.
Grabban is a versatile presence on the offensive side of the pitch and could use his scoring form from last season to tie down a lucrative contract. Leeds United could offer him a perfect escape from Dean Court as they are severely depleted in the number nine position.

Bielsa will also be looking to make a refurbished run for promotion next season with all his key players in pace. Since Abel Hernandez or Matej Vydra has not been signed just yet, maybe the veteran could be an alternate option to lead the charge.
