Rangers striker Ryan Hardie has left the Ibrox Stadium to join Livingston this summer. According to recent reports, the Gers have temporarily parted ways with the Scottish forward ahead of the new season. It is expected that the youngster will gain more first-team experience and develop his game during his time at the Almondvale Stadium.
The 21-year-old went out on loan to Livingston back in January and had put in a number of eye-catching displays during the course of last season. He had made 16 appearances in the Scottish Championship, scoring 8 goals while grabbing 2 assists in all competitions. His contributions helped Livingston secure a route back to the Scottish top-flight via the playoffs.
In a recent interview, the acting manager of Livingston acting manager, Martindale was quoted to have said,
“I am delighted to bring Ryan Hardie back to Livingston. From the minute that final whistle blew at Firhill, I have been on his back urging him to give us a season in the Premiership.
“To be honest, Rangers have been terrific and very supportive of Ryan coming back to us, so it’s a win-win for both parties. Ryan, to be fair, has always said he would love to return.
“It speaks volumes for the Club as a whole that we have players of Ryan’s undoubted ability wanting to return to and play for Livingston.
“Personally I feel we have built a fantastic squad and one that will be very competitive in the top flight.
“This week will see us announce a new manager and I’m fairly certain that between us both we will have a few more signings to excite the fans. There is a fantastic foundation for the new gaffer to come in and implement his footballing philosophy, without losing the identity we have fostered over the last few seasons.”
Thierry Ambrose
The Dutch Eredivisie ace has been in outstanding form for NAC Breda last season and is exactly the kind of player that Steven Gerrard’s team could benefit from. The French striker has made 31 appearances last season, finding the back of the net 10 times while creating 6 assists across all competitions. At the mere age of 21, Ambrose has a lot of potential to grow into a future world-beater in Scottish football.
Ross McCormack
If the Glaswegian giants are looking to recruit someone who can be an immediate solution, they can definitely consider making an offer for the services of this 31-year-old Championship forward. The Scottish talent has recently completed a loan spell at A-League’s Melbourne City and returned to Aston Villa back in January. He has put in some brilliant performances for the Australian outfit and had registered 14 goals in 19 matches during the previous A-League season. McCormack also has a lot of experience in English and Scottish football which makes him a perfect candidate to take up the goal-scoring duties at the Ibrox Stadium next term.
