Latest reports in the French media have confirmed that multiple English clubs including the likes of Fulham, Newcastle United and Everton are all interested in signing French star Clément Grenier. However, the English clubs are sure to face stiff competition from other outside European outfits including AC Milan, Rennes and Fenerbahce. A six-way race could be set to ensue for the exciting 27-year-old midfielder.
Clement’s career had taken a downturn until this January when he completed a move to Ligue 1 side, Guingamp. The midfielder is usually deployed in a central midfield role but can play in advanced positions as well like attacking midfield.
He is known for his outstanding abilities from set pieces which includes both direct and indirect free kicks. He is technically strong and is a good dribbler in the centre of the park. The player signed a one-and-a-half-year deal with the Ligue 1 side back in January but now he only has one year contract left.
It now seems that Guingamp are ready to part ways with him with so many sides interested in him. They are said to have put a €3m price tag on the player, something that is likely to engage his suitors even more in the current transfer market. The player was in impressive form in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign during which he scored 5 goals and picked up 4 assists in 15 games.
The player was once considered as one of the top prospects in France but his game faded away in between and he was lost like multiple talented players before him. It now seems that the switch to Guingamp has helped him rediscover his form and the player could be set to revamp his career now.
He is reportedly interested in playing for some club who have qualified for Europe, should the chance arise but is more than happy to play for smaller teams as well who will help him get more game time.

As for Newcastle, they had a decent outing last season but the credit for the team’s performance goes majorly to Rafa Benitez who has been instrumental in their success. He, however, will need reinforcements this summer if he is to improve the team for next season and getting in exciting players like Grenier will definitely help the Spanish mastermind build a more exciting team for next season.
