Everton are reportedly looking towards potentially bagging English midfield duo, Jack Wilshere and Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer. Marco Silva is looking to make the necessary additions to better implement his style of play onto the pitch. Farhad Moshiri has already agreed to bankroll the manager’s wishes to see his side in the UEFA Champions League in the near future.
This move could be a massive chance for Loftus-Cheek as well, who does not feel wanted in the Chelsea ranks with Antonio Conte still at the managerial seat. The 23-year-old had to find an escape at Crystal Palace last season due to the lack of first-team opportunities under the Italian boss.
He is currently serving England in the 2018 FIFA World Cup and came on to impress as a second-half substitute in England’s 2-1 win over Tunisia in the group stages. The Chelsea academy product came in to add some composure and creative input that the team were lacking early on in the game.
He paired up with Marcus Rashford to mount pressure on the opposition and finally helped his side to the three crucial points. The 23-year-old also made 25 appearances this past season during which he scored 2 goals and furthered 5 assists. An ankle injury kept him out of the pitch for a significant period but the midfielder still managed to beat out Wilshere into Gareth Southgate’s final 23-man squad for the World Cup.
Standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall, the Englishman draws comparisons to Ivory Coast international, Yaya Toure. Loftus-Cheek could replicate the veteran’s achievements in the English top-flight but will have to secure a first team spot first.
The central midfielder is a graduate of the Blues youth ranks and has been capped 40 times for England’s U16, U17, U19 and U21 sides. In the 2014/15 season, he helped Chelsea to the FA Youth Cup trophy and subsequently the U21 Premier League.
Marco Silva currently has Morgan Schneiderlin, Tom Davies, Idrissa Gueye, Beni Baningime and an injured James McCarthy in the position. The latter is still recovering from a double leg break and Mo Besic is also uncertain of his future at Goodison Park.
Schneiderlin is expected to be sold off soon and Gylfi Sigurdsson has struggled to replicate his Swansea City form. Wayne Rooney is yet to decide upon his future at the Goodison Park with Davy Klaassen flopping out in his debut season.

Loftus-Cheek has racked up considerable experience and will be an immediate answer to all of Toffees’ problems in the midfield.
