Chelsea currently have a lot on their plate as they are yet to sort out the future of their manager. The Blues are expected to give Antonio Conte the boot, however, there is still no official statement that the club has parted ways with the Italian manager. Meanwhile, Maurizio Sarri is constantly being linked with a move and Chelsea soon need to bring him to the helm of the club so that he can get as much time as possible to improve and work with the squad.
The Blues are currently negotiating Sarri’s release from the Italian club Napoli and they are expected to pay £7m as compensation fee to land the manager. Even though there is no official statement regarding the new manager, the club is already being linked with a move for Raul Albiol who plays for Napoli.
According to reports, with Sarri incoming, he might be able to bring in quite a few Napoli players with him and the Blues are currently linked with three more players apart from Albiol.
The veteran defender has been with the Italian outfit since 2013 and played a crucial role last season as they came perilously close to breaking the monopoly of Juventus in the domestic league. However, they fell short by four points in the end. Albiol formed a strong defensive partnership with Kalidou Koulibaly and the pair kept it relatively tight at the back, as they conceded just 29 goals throughout their campaign.
Chelsea were not without any silverware the last term, as they won the FA Cup, however, their season will be termed as a failure for them, as they finished 5th in the league. Antonio Conte built his team on the back of strong defensive performances when they won the league in his first season, however, last season, they were woeful at the back as the likes of Gary Cahill and David Luiz had a poor season. They had to resort to the inexperienced pairing of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen at the back and the duo still have a lot of learning to do.
It remains to be seen which players will depart from the club in the summer under the new manager. The future of Gary Cahill and David Luiz looks in huge doubt currently and it would be no surprise if they go on to depart from Stamford Bridge, before the start of the new season.

Albiol will be a good option to have at the back as he has a whole lot of experience in various leagues and at the national level as well with Spain. However, the Premier League could be a big challenge for the former Real Madrid defender.
