The saga regarding Keylor Navas’ future seems to be dragging on and on and according to latest reports in Spanish media, Navas is stunningly being linked with a move to Liverpool. Real Madrid‘s new manager Julien Lopetegui is looking to use the Costa Rican goalkeeper in a bid to lure Sadio Mane at Santiago Bernabeu. The Galacticos are willing to offer £70m plus Keylor Navas and the move certainly looks tempting.
Mane has been impressive in the past few years for the Merseyside club and he forms one part of the most feared attacking trio in Europe at the moment. Liverpool came perilously close in doing the unthinkable by winning the Champions League, however, they faltered on the final step due to some atrocious piece goalkeeping from Loris Karius.
That performance had certainly made most of the Liverpool fans turn against the German custodian and the Reds are being linked with quite a few goalkeepers this summer. It is clear that Jurgen Klopp will have to bring in a new custodian for the next season and now that Keylor Navas’ name has popped up, the Liverpool management team will have a decision to make.
However, it seems unlikely that Klopp will let Mane go in the summer as the player has formed an unbelievable partnership with Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. One feels that the Senegalese is yet to hit his peak and maybe another year at Anfield can bring the best out of him.
Liverpool will surely like to keep their core players together for as long as possible as Klopp is close to achieving something special at the Merseyside club. Over the past few years, the Reds have gone on to sell some of their key assets and it has come back to bite them. Surely they shouldn’t fall in the same trap again and should look to keep their front three together.
The offer will certainly tempt them as they are in desperate need of a goalkeeper. Currently, it seems like they are out of contention for the signature of Alisson Becker and with not many top goalkeepers available in the market, Navas won’t be a bad option to have.

However, the Costa Rican has some mistakes in his game and is often uncomfortable while playing the ball out from the back. The Reds should target some top of the cream goalkeepers if they want a significant improvement over Karius and the fact that they will have to sacrifice Mane to land Navas, makes this rumour a story to fill up the pages this summer.
