Arsenal are looking for a new beginning under Unai Emery as Arsene Wenger departed from the club after more than two decades of service. Emery has already started to make moves in the transfer market as he has gone on to secure the signing of Stephan Lichsteiner and Bernd Leno and now they are being linked with a move for Sweden’s Emil Forsberg.
The winger is set to play a crucial role in Russia for his country and a good outing in the World Cup will certainly make the world notice him and that can see his stocks go higher. The winger currently plies his trade in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig and he managed five goals and four assists in 33 games last season.
Recently, he gave an interview, which indicated that he is looking for the next step in his footballing career. The 26-year-old said,”I’m ready for the next big step. That’s going to be very interesting. I am in dialogue with RB and always had a good relationship with the club. I have the dream of playing for the strongest clubs in the world.”
The Swede certainly seems to clear that he is ready for a change and that should certainly put Arsenal on high alert, if they want their man.
Forsberg is the third generation of players who have represented his national side and is regarded highly as a star in his home country. Apart from the Gunners, even Liverpool have been linked with a move for him, however, nothing is certain as of now, regarding the future of the player.
Arsenal’s new era has already begun and they will be monitored on every step they make. They have been lost in mediocrity in the last few years and the fans are in need of a moment of inspiration. They have failed to qualify for the Champions League and it is going to be that much harder for them to attract top talents to the Emirates. However, they do have a decent squad and should be able to give a good challenge in the top four race.

Arsenal currently lack options in the wings department and it is astonishing to see that the club doesn’t have an out and out winger in the squad apart from Alex Iwobi. So it is clear that Emery will look to rectify that in this ongoing transfer market and the 26 year old will certainly add more depth to the squad. However, it remains to be seen whether he will be able to adjust to life in the Premier League.
