According to latest reports, Paris Saint-Germain are seriously considering a move for Middlesbrough attacker, Adama Traore. The 22-year-old has a £18m release clause in his contract with economic rights still tied to his previous club Aston Villa.
It is being understood that the French giants are only looking at the Spaniard due to their current hiccup with Financial Fair Play regulations. As per the FFP, Thomas Tuchel might be forced to sell some of his greatest assets in the side, including Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler.
Traore has proven to be an outstanding player in the EFL Championship and might just be ready to feature for a major club. He hails from the prestigious La Masia academy of Barcelona and was once pegged to be a massive star in the world stage.
However, the winger’s career took a major detour when he struck out with Boro in the Premier League. Now he has gathered experience over the years and has developed himself as one of the top wingers in the Championship. He has netted the ball 5 times in his 40 appearances last season and also set up 12 assists.
Traore can run the channels with remarkable speed and has often left defenders behind in the dust. A relentless runner with almost engine-like stamina under his belt, the Spaniard is one of the most important figures in Tony Pulis’ squad.
His technical skills have slowly polished over the years, all credit to the Barcelona youth ranks and the challenges of the English game. The 22-year-old signed with Aston Villa in the summer of 2015 after making just 4 appearances for the Blaugrana senior team.
Traore has 37 games worth of Premier League experience and has totalled 71 for Boro over the past 2 seasons. He is still tied to the Riverside Stadium for another 2 years.
During his transfer between the two Championship outfits, Villa club owner, Tony Xia had tweeted, “We’ll also get benefits from Adama becoming great in the future as deal settled.”
This obviously sparks some interest from the Claret and Blues who are undergoing severe financial problems after their failure to achieve promotion to the Premier League.
