Manuel Pellegrini is on the move to challenge the big boys of the Premier League with West Ham United and they are close to securing the signature of Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski. The Polish goalkeeper was expected to leave the Swans once they got relegated and the deal is soon going to be completed in the next few hours.
The deal is said to be worth £7m and the Hammers don’t have any issue in paying such an amount for an experienced Premier League pedigree goalkeeper. Fabianski was one of the few standout players for the Swans in a season to forget where they went down to the second division.
According to reports, Manuel Pellegrini has been handed a transfer budget of £75m and it is expected that after securing the move for Fabianski, they will go for further reinforcements to their squad. The East London outfit has struggled with goalkeeping options for quite some time now and it seems like they are close to resolving that by bringing in Fabianski. Fabianski recently said in an interview,” We need to wait a bit, but I won’t be lying – something is going to happen. Now I need to wait and be patient. If I leave Swansea, I will regret that it will happen after relegation to the Championship. I spent there lovely time, they helped me in the tough moment, when I didn’t play in Arsenal. I will have memories for rest of my life from Swansea.”
The Hammers last season brought Joe Hart on loan from Manchester City and a lot was expected out of the veteran custodian. However, his performances were below par and as a result, West Ham United decided not to sign him up on a permanent basis.
David Moyes used Adrain for quite a few games and one has to say that the Spaniard outperformed the former English No. 1. However, Adrian also has some inconsistencies in his game and to challenge in the Premier League further, the Chilean manager needed a proven option.

Fabianski has slowly gone on to impress in his time in the Premier League and was regular for his side last season. He went on to play every single minute in the domestic league and managed 9 clean sheets. However, he shouldn’t be judged solely on those numbers as often he was let down by his defence and one can say that Pellegrini will have an able option at his disposal.
