Hull City are set to lose their left back Max Clark after he has failed to sign a new contract with the club. His contract is coming to an end by the end of this month and it is likely that the youngster has played his last game in Hull colours. There is an interest for the defender from Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem and few Championship clubs as well.
Vitesse Arnhem is managed by former Hull manager Leonid Slutsky and he is particularly keen on bringing the 22-year-old to the Netherlands. However, Nigel Adkins believes that the defender deep down wants to stay at the club.
The defender has a contract at the table from Hull City but he is unhappy with the terms of the contract. However, City are not budging to the player’s demand which was first offered in September. The Tigers have had a mass exodus from the club as they have lost six senior players and Clark is close to being added to that list after 11 days.
The Kingston born defender has graduated from Hull City’s youth academy and made his left-back spot his own last season. He made 30 appearances in all competitions and was decent at the back for his side. One would have expected him to improve further after regular first-team experience but it seems like his time is set to come to an end at KCOM Stadium.
The defender has also been linked with a move to Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday and it remains to be seen whether the youngster will pursue his footballing career in his homeland or abroad. Clark has represented England at the u-17 level and the Tigers would have been hoping that he will turn out to be a long-term prospect for them.
However, now they are close to losing him and he is yet to hit his prime. The youngster has been with the Tigers since 2014 and the last term was his breakthrough season.

The Tigers finished 18th on the table and would have been dragged into the relegation battle if not for the exploits from the talented winger Harry Wilson, who came on loan from Liverpool. The team looks far way off from challenging for the playoff spot and are set to lose some key players before the start of the season. Nigel Adkins will have a big job at hand now to find able replacements for those players including Max Clark as it looks all but clear that he is set to depart KCOM Stadium.
