Former PSG boss Unai Emery has a tough nut to crack at Emirates. The club has failed to qualify for the Champions League two seasons on the trot now and the fans will be edgy, going into the new campaign. So the manager is responsible to calm those nerves and his, as he looks to add players who can make his system work at Arsenal.
But there are a few first-team stars at Emirates whose future is yet to be resolved. One such player, who continues to be linked with an exit is Jack Wilshere.
The English midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, was given a chance to prove himself at Arsenal last season by Wenger. He started 12 league games, picking up three assists and a goal. However, he is out of a contract in a matter of days and is yet to pen a new deal with the club.
Wilshere is reportedly unsure about his future under Unai Emery, the new boss at the club. He has already been offered a pay rise and a new deal, which he has chosen to reject and it is now understood that he is looking to leave the club, amid fears of his role under the Spanish boss.
A fleet-footed midfielder with great vision and technique, the 26-year old was once considered the future of the national side. But lack of form, injuries and other issues saw him lose out on a place on the flight to Russia for the World Cup.
He will now be worried about his future and is at a time where he cannot afford to take the wrong step. He has time and again failed to hit heights he once proved at the Emirates on a European stage and will want to regain such reputation, in whichever way possible.

But it increasingly looks like he does not have too much of a future at Arsenal. Emery has already offered Granit Xhaka a new deal while Aaron Ramsey is expected to be the midfield lynchpin under the new manager. This will leave Wilshere fighting for a place in the first team yet again, and even worse if Emery decides to spend on another midfielder.
He will be a free agent and will have loads of potential suitors waiting for him in the current transfer market so it makes a lot of sense for Wilshere, to quit Arsenal and start afresh at a new club, of his liking.
