According to latest reports, Fulham have made a bid for Swansea City striker Jordan Ayew. The bid is said to be £8m and it remains to be seen what will the response be from the Welsh outfit. The Swans got relegated to the Championship as they finished on the 18th spot.
Ayew made 44 appearances in all competitions last season and managed 11 goals. A lot more was expected out of him as he failed to deliver consistently for the Swans. Ayew was signed from Aston Villa in 2017 January transfer window and was expected to play a big part in their Premier League campaign. However, his performances left a lot to be desired.
Fulham, on the other hand, are currently in dreamland as they won the playoff finals defeating Aston Villa and Slavisa Jokanovic side have gone on to secure a berth in the English top division. The Serbian mastermind will be aware that he will need to improve his team in a lot of fronts as the Premier League will be the real test of his managerial abilities and for the players as well.
Fulham are also in the market to sign Newcastle United’s striker Aleksandr Mitrovic who impressed on loan and the Serbian international will certainly be in Jokanovic’s plans. The Cottagers have also got the likes of Rui Fonte and Aboubakar Kamara who can play in the striker’s role.
However, Ayew is a versatile forward and it might very well happen that Jokanovic might use him down the left or right wing.
The ball is currently in Swansea’s court as according to reports, the Cottagers have made a bid for the striker and it remains to be seen whether they will be will to sell him for below the £10m mark. They signed him from Villa for£ 5m and the deal also involved Neil Taylor moving to Villa Park.

The Swans recently appointed Graham Potter as their new manager and it remains to be seen whether he will let go of the Ghanian international. Even Tammy Abraham is being linked with a move away from the club and the former Ostersunds manager can’t certainly lose both of them in the same transfer window. Fulham will be delighted to have him as he has got a good amount of Premier League experience and will bring in more competitions for places and maybe in a new setup, he might be able to take his game a notch higher.
