Tottenham Hotspur seems to be busy trying to save their assets this summer as they are offering new contracts to key figures at the club. Late last month, Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino signed a five-year contract, keeping the likes of Real Madrid away from luring him.
They backed it up by getting star striker Harry Kane to put pen to paper on a new deal that broke the wage structure prevalent at the club. And the latest name in the list of people offered new deals at the club is playmaker Dele Alli.
The midfielder is never too far away from controversy but is easily one of the best players in his role in England at the moment. He is a crucial part of the English squad for the World Cup in Russia but is fresh from a season that he will not remember too fondly.
He registered 14 goals and 14 assists in all competitions for the club but was not consistent enough to help his side set up a title-challenge. However, at just 22, he will only get better as a footballer and is one of the biggest assets for Spurs and England alike.
He currently earns around £60,000-a-week but reports now claim that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to offer him a new long-term deal, making him one of the highest paid at the club. Harry Kane will earn £100,00-a-week plus bonuses on his new deal and it is understood that Dele Alli will also be offered a similar pay on his new contract.
The story claims that Alli is happy with his time in London and is set to put pen to paper on a six-year deal, pledging his long-term future at the club. He is yet to win a trophy with Spurs but he has a winning mentality and can be a match winner on his day, against even the toughest of opponents.
Pochettino will want to add quality to his side this summer but Alli will remain a regular in the first team next season. His chemistry with Harry Kane is actually underrated and if the duo can hit top gear together next season, Spurs are not too far away from landing a trophy, the first under Pochettino.
