Leicester City are heading the race for Norwich City midfielder, James Maddison along with Premier League rivals, Everton. The Foxes will have to shell out £25m or more for the attacking midfielder as top-flight sides have begun to pile on the pressure. Maddison’s stock keeps rising with most of the Premier League outfits taking an interest in the midfielder and Claude Puel will have to fight out some of the big guns this very summer.
Norwich finished the past season in the 14th spot of the EFL Championship, nowhere close to the promotion playoffs and the club’s Sporting Director, Stewart Webber has already started the restructuring process. He will have to move around the club’s assets to better fit their future requirements and will need summer reinforcements to plug a few gaps in the current squad ranks if they intend to start matching the likes of the top-half sides.
Maddison will obviously be a major loss but will also fetch the Canaries a decent amount of cash which they can reinvest as per their needs. The question lies in how Maddison might fit into Puel’s system at the King Power Stadium. Leicester are expected to lose Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City this summer which, in turn, will understandably open up a spot on the right wing.
Standing at 5 feet 9 inches tall, the Englishman fits the creative bills needed to replace Mahrez. His boots are brimming with top-pedigree talent and the player has the years in front of him to develop into a star on the grand European stage.
He earned the 2017/18 Norwich Player Of The Season award and was also nominated for a place in the Championship Team Of The Year. He returned from his loan spell with Aberdeen to captivate the fans with his terrific footballing abilities on the offensive end.
Maddison scored 14 times and set his teammates up on 10 occasions in his 43 total appearances. He is adept at creating plays from the number ten position and has already developed himself into one of the top talents in the country.
The youngster can hit the ball with accuracy and power as evident from his 90th-minute free kick against Rangers on 25th September 2016. He has quick enough feet to dribble his way out of tight spots and draws a few similarities to the Brazilian magician, Philippe Coutinho.

At Leicester, with Mahrez gone, Maddison will have the open field to express himself. He could turn out to be the missing piece in their attacking puzzle for the Foxes and can be a vital cog in bringing back their glory days from two seasons ago.
