According to latest reports, West Ham United‘s Chilean manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen on bringing in Argentine winger Cristian Pavon. The 22-year-old might be an unknown name in the European circuit but he has been effective in the Argentinian division for Boca Juniors. He finished the last season with 7 goals and 17 assists to his name and on the back of such impressive displays, he has been picked up for the World Cup squad for Argentina.
He is one of few players to go to Russia who still plies his trade in the Argentine domestic circuit and if the youngster goes on to have a good World Cup, one can see his stocks rise in the transfer market. The Hammers have a history of snapping up some Argentine players as they got the likes of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano and at present, they have Manuel Lanzini and Pablo Zabaleta at their disposal.
The East London outfit will be looking for a new beginning under Pellegrini and will be hoping to challenge the big boys of the Premier League. For that, they will be in need of some reinforcements and the board and the manager have already begun their search for new exciting talents.
Boca Juniors, however, are holding off talks with any interested club as they want to hold him until the end of the World cup as they might be of the opinion that if Pavon goes on to have an impressive outing in Russia, they can significantly demand a higher price for the 22-year-old.
Pavon’s exploits helped his team in securing the league title and the Argentine international is touted to have a big future. The Cordoba born winger has 5 national caps to his name and it remains to be seen whether he will get first-team opportunities in the World cup.
Hammers were in the relegation battle last season and were only able to secure their future after some impressive displays from Marko Arnautovic. They have lacked attacking quality upfront as the likes of Michail Antonio and Manuel Lanzini have been injury prone and missed quite a few games last season.

It is highly expected that if any move is going to be made for the player, it will happen after the World Cup as Boca Juniors hold all the cards in this deal. West Ham are in need of some attacking talent, especially down the wings and it remains to be seen whether Pavon will turn out for the English outfit next season.
