“Right now Yaya has a lot of offers from different countries, huge offers are being made, but we decided to dedicate the next season to Guardiola and show and prove to Man City fans that Yaya is still far from retiring,” agent Dimitry Seluk told Russian website Sport24.
“He’s full of energy and willing to play the next season in England. In the time when huge amounts of money are spent on footballers in England, I officially declare that Yaya is ready to move to any of the Premier League top-six clubs as a free agent and play for just £1 per week, with possible bonuses in case of certain achievements.
“I reckon a player such as Yaya wouldn’t be bad for any club, be it Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United, Tottenham or Liverpool. He’s a winner.”
The aforementioned statement was recorded from Yaya Toure’s agent, Dimitry Seluk. The player is clearly motivated to prove his worth after being rejected by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Toure is 35 now and clearly past his prime. The swashbuckling midfielder was a giant force to be reckoned with back in his prime days. However, a motivated player can sometimes defy the odds and play beyond his registered number of days as was the case with Edwin Van Der Sar.
With Toure now a free agent and ready to rumble, here are three clubs who we feel can bring him in this summer.
Everton
The Merseysiders spent a fortune in the market in the last two transfer windows. They brought in 22 new players to the club and tried to make Everton a threat in England and in Europe. However, the new players failed to gel together and left the Merseyside club reeling in a mid-table position.
They lack a natural leader in the side owing to so many new signings and Toure can be brought in to lead the pack. He has done it all before at Manchester City when his game and leadership skills saw the newly assembled Citizens squad rocket to the league title back in 2011-12. Everton could hope for a similar effect if they bring in Toure this summer.
Arsenal
The Gunners have an extremely talented squad and a very creative midfield. They have players like Jack Wilshere, Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey who are all capable of scoring and creating. However, what they are bad at is defending their team’s midfield line when Arsenal loses the ball.
They need a central defensive midfielder who can sit back and screen the defence. Toure’s physical play and brute strength can be decisive in Arsenal’s midfield and a motivated leader like him could actually get the talented bunch at the Emirates together to win a big trophy.
Chelsea
This will definitely not be one of Chelsea’s more conventional buys as the club is known for buying young players only. However, the Blues have an exceptional midfielder in N’Golo Kante but the Frenchman is crying out for a more physically strong and technically solid partner. Tiemoue Bakayoko simply isn’t good enough for Chelsea and Cesc Fabregas is not strong defensively.

Getting in a player like Toure to plug the last remaining gap will definitely make Chelsea stronger and the Blues can pull out a year or two from the big boy from Manchester City before his retirement.
