Everton midfield star Davy Klaassen is reportedly being targetted for a move by Turkish club Besiktas. He is reportedly being chased on an initial loan deal and with the summer transfer window already commenced, we may see him on the move.
The midfielder joined the Blues last season for a fee of £23.6m but has flattered to deceive at Goodison Park. The player was brought in from Ajax by his compatriot and the then Everton boss Ronald Koeman but the move has clearly failed so far.
He has made only seven appearances in the league throughout the season and was the least impactful in all those games. However, the central midfielder was not the only one who failed as all of Everton’s new faces who walked in last year failed to make an impression.
He was the captain back at Ajax during his Eredivisie days and to adjust at a new club as a squad player with so many stars must have been difficult for him. He, however, is not keen on giving up and wants to fight for a place at Goodison Park.
“My overall experience at Everton has been good. The club is excellent and the people are very nice,” Klaassen told the Liverpool Echo. “It is an ambitious club and I 100 percent enjoy being here. I feel at home and am determined to play more for the team.”
The player is geared up to undergo a tough and challenging preseason in order to prepare himself for the new season and wants to train extra hard to ensure himself of a place in the Everton team this time around under new boss Marco Silva.
“We have a vacation now and I will relax for a couple of weeks but then start training to come back in top condition,” the 25-year-old said. “That is my goal and everybody’s goal, so there is going to be good competition for places.”
He added: “You have to be ready as soon as you are needed. It is hard to be patient but if you keep working it will come. You have to work hard and try to show yourself when you get a chance.”

Everton themselves might undergo some changes under Silva and should not hasten a move away for Klaassen. He remains a smart customer on the ball with enough quality to succeed in England. The player is a smooth operator and a brilliant passer of the ball. He is good with his marking and defensive game as well and is quite mature, having developed rather rapidly for someone of his age.
