Swansea City are looking to secure the services of Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward this summer. According to a recent report by the Mirror (print edition, page 68, June 3, 2018), the Swans are hoping to seal a move for the Welsh goalie during this ongoing transfer period. It is understood that the Welsh club are preparing for life in the Championship and are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
Some sources are now claiming the Championship new boys are looking to make an offer for the Reds goalkeeper in this post-season. However, they are not the only ones hoping to sign him with Norwich City also keeping tabs on his situation at Anfield. Ward has failed to feature in Jurgen Klopp’s senior team last season and could benefit from a potential move away from Merseyside this summer as he looks to secure more first-team opportunities somewhere else.
The 24-year-old keeper will be a major coup for the Swans if they can pull off such a deal. The Welsh talent played an instrumental part in Huddersfield Town‘s fairy-tale promotion run to the English top-flight last summer. Hence, it only makes sense for him to lace up for a Championship club once again as he looks to reignite his career in the coming years.
The Reds of Merseyside were able to obtain a top 4 finish last season but finished their campaign in a heart-breaking fashion when they suffered a bitter 3-1 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final last month.
Retaining some of their top talents could help them build for a bigger and better future at Anfield. However, Ward is currently surplus to requirements as Jurgen Klopp looks to bring in a new keeper this summer. A potential move to the Liberty Stadium this summer could be beneficial for all parties as Liverpool could use the money generated from his sale to strengthen other areas of their squad while the Welsh keeper can get more first-team opportunities at Swansea next season.

Klopp also has the likes of Simon Mignolet, Loris Karius and Adam Bogdan to choose from as he looks to build a squad capable enough of challenging on all fronts in the upcoming campaign. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Ward and whether he ends up making a switch out of Anfield in the summer.
