Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor could be on his way out of Glasgow with Watford being tipped to secure his services this summer. According to recent reports, the Hornets are lining up a move for the Scottish midfield ace during this summer transfer period. It is believed that Javi Gracia’s side will look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign and McGregor fits the bill perfectly.
Some sources are now linking the Scottish talent with a move to Vicarage Road in the summer. The 24-year-old has put in a number of excellent performances during the course of last season which has not gone unnoticed. It could prove to be a major coup for the Hornets if they can pull off such a move this summer.
McGregor had featured in 55 matches for the Hoops last season, finding the back of the net 12 times while grabbing 8 assists in all competitions. The Celtic star has also earned 3 international caps for the Scottish national team so far in his career. He is exactly the kind of talent who can flourish under the guidance of Javi Gracia while playing in the English top-flight next season. Only time will tell whether Watford ends up making a move for his signature in the coming weeks.
The Bhoys had another successful season and were able to earn a domestic treble but their performance in the UEFA Champions League left a lot to be desired. Hence, they can’t afford to let go of their most talented players as it will significantly deplete their squad ahead of the new season.
However, the Glaswegian giants could look to use the money generated from a potential sale to strengthen other areas of their squad. Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers needs to make up a transfer plan and work accordingly. If the Hoops does end up parting ways with the Scottish midfielder, then they would also need to bring in a suitable replacement who will be capable enough to bolster their midfield significantly.

McGregor should definitely look to stay at Celtic Park and opt against a move to some other destination this summer as he is already getting regular game time under Rodgers which might help him fulfil his true potential. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of the Scottish international and whether he ends up departing the Bhoys this summer.
