Latest reports are confirming that Everton are ready to part ways with their club icon Wayne Rooney and the English veteran wants to play in the USA.
“He wants to come,” said one person, who met Rooney here. “He wanted to make sure D.C. was serious, and he wanted to get comfortable with the idea of playing here,” is what D.C. United chiefs had to say.
He joined Everton only last season but has been unable to perform at Merseyside. He is now reportedly ready to move and here are three players Everton can look at who can replace the 32-year-old at Merseyside.
Oscar
The former Chelsea player is currently trading his football life at China after failing to cut it into Conte’s first team at Chelsea.
He came in with Eden Hazard and together with the Belgian and Juan Mata, the trio formed a formidable partnership at Chelsea. He was an effective part of Mourinho’s title-winning team in the 2014-15 season but could not succeed under Conte.
He is still very young and can definitely come back to Europe. He has good technical skills, a thirst for the spectacular and is a hard-working team player on his day. He would definitely add quality to the Everton team should they get him in.
Dusan Tadic
The forward is technically gifted and is a versatile attacker and can play as a winger, a playmaker and an attacker depending on his team’s needs.
He has an excellent left foot and is a natural goal scorer. At Everton, he can take up the role of the secondary striker. He has a wealth of experience of playing in England, something that is bound to make the owners comfortable if they are to be taking a risk on him.
Kingsley Coman
He is young but has a wealth of experience of top quality football already. He is essentially a winger who can play almost anywhere across the attack.
He is a strong, fast player, is technically gifted and a brilliant dribbler. He will definitely add more dynamism and guile to the Everton team should the Toffees be able to get him. He is excellent with the ball and has a high work rate.
