Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Reo Griffiths. The player has been in strikingly good form scoring 23 goals in just 18 matches this term for the U-18 Premier League side. He is set to sign a new contract with the North London club but things could change as Celtic appear to be interested in signing him.
The player recently took to Instagram to confirm that he will sign a new deal somewhere soon. “I’ll be signing something soon, mate. Don’t you worry about that.”
Celtic currently have Leigh Griffiths, Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard in their squad. Dembele has been linked with a move away from the club and Rodgers admit that the player could leave the club.
He said: “Moussa is a fantastic player and the reasons why he has come here have borne fruit. We wouldn’t want to lose him, but you have to think he’s a big talent and something may happen in the summer. We try and have the next one lined up.”
Speaking of his second man, Odsonne, Rodgers knows that the player might return to his parent club PSG. “Odsonne is a top talent. If you look at him, we brought him in for a reason. He has developed and grown over the season. This is a wonderful place to continue with that education. We have Leigh Griffiths as well. He has suffered a bit with injuries this season, but he’s a top talent.”
“We can use the best of the strikers in the games in order to win. I have said all along, and I know there were question marks about him, that Odsonne has everything.”
Odsonne for his part has made it clear that he wants to stay at Parkhead. “I really love this club. If the decision was up to me I’d like to stay. But I can only do so much.”
If Celtic were to lose Dembele and Odsonne, they would be really short on numbers up front and need further reinforcement. A player like Reo Griffiths would be too young to help the club but he can definitely be an option for the future or play as a backup to his namesake at the club.

However, just signing the Tottenham Hotspur star will not solve their crisis if Dembele and Odsonne leave and Celtic will need a third recognized striker in the team as well.
