Arsenal are lining up a move for FC Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira this summer. According to recent reports, the Gunners are still on the hunt for the Portuguese international and could make a move for him during this summer transfer period. It is believed that Arsenal have had a long-standing interest in the Portuguese talent and are now ready to reignite their desire to recruit him this summer.
Some sources are now claiming that the North London side have been in contact with Danilo, who is currently sidelined due to an Achilles injury which will also rule him out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Arsenal are ready to monitor his progress ahead of a potential move in the near future.
Danilo had put in some solid displays for Porto during the course of the last campaign which has not gone unnoticed. The 26-year-old had featured in 30 matches for the Portuguese giants last season, finding the back of the net 4 times while grabbing 3 assists in all competitions. He has also earned 27 international caps for the Portuguese national team during his career while scoring one goal for his country so far.
The North London side only managed to conjure up a 6th placed finish in the league last season which will see them miss out on UEFA Champions League football in the upcoming campaign. Hence, they are in dire need to bring in some top-class players in the summer transfer window so that they can earn a route back into the Premier League‘s top 4 next year.
The addition of Danilo will undoubtedly bolster their midfield options ahead of the new season. Arsenal have a whole host of midfield talents such as Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny competing for a starting berth at the Emirates Stadium. The potential acquisition of Danilo will add more competition for places within the Gunners squad and improve their team significantly in the near future.
