According to latest reports, a host of clubs are interested in signing FC Porto star Yacine Brahimi. There is the Italian side AS Roma who wants to bring him in. Amongst the English clubs, there are Newcastle United, Everton and newly promoted side Wolves.
The FC Porto star moved to Portugal in 2014 and has scored 40 goals in around 150 appearances since. He has been in good form this season scoring 10 times for the Portuguese side in 40 matches. He earned his move to Portugal after impressing in Spain with Granada. He also has prior experience of playing in France for Rennes.
The player is only 28 years old and has already gathered so much experience of playing in multiple countries like France, Spain and Portugal. He will definitely be a smart player to purchase in the current market for the Toon. The player has a contract situation at FC Porto as his contract is set to expire after next season.
This means that he could leave for cheap this summer and Newcastle could be the ones to bring him in. Of the other interested parties, there is Everton, who will most likely be the front-runners for his signature. They have spent a fortune since Farhad Moshiri took over and the player will be joining a club ready to break into the elite competition in Europe if he signs for the Toffees.
Then there are Wolves who will also be a tough opponent to beat in the market, given their financial prowess. Then there are the Romans from Italy who might get him on board with the lure of European nights.
This would leave Newcastle in a disadvantage who have no aces in the hands to deal out. They will simply have to pay more than the other interested parties if they are to have any chance of landing him. Newcastle have had a tough season but have done excellently given their restraints.
They were promoted the season before last under the tutelage of Rafa Benitez and the Spaniard has created magic once again this season when he led this Newcastle side to a top half finish, 10th to be exact. They, however, have not signed any players on a permanent basis and if they want to do well this time around, they must get new faces on board.
