Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing West Brom striker Salomon Rondon. The 28-year-old South American is a long time servant of the English league and is now reportedly on the radar of not only Tottenham Hotspur but also several other English clubs like West Ham United, Chelsea and Cardiff City.
West Brom had an extremely poor season and were the first team to get relegated this season. Previously under the management of Alan Pardew, they just won one match in their entire spell but under new boss Darren Moore, things turned around.
However, the change in form was a little too late to help the Baggies. Despite getting positive results against the top six sides, West Brom still had to face the drop and will now be playing in the second division next season.
The drop will mean that West Brom will have plenty of issues to deal with including financial restrictions. They might have to let some extremely important players in the squad leave in the summer, who are on a high payroll, to adjust their chequebooks.
Moreover, their relegation will also mean that the transfer fee of some players with a ‘relegation release clause’ will be available for cheap. One such player who will be available on the cheap now is Salomon Rondon. The striker is set to be available for only £16m.
With so many clubs interested in him and with his release price set so low, the player will most certainly be leaving the club for a team in the top division. It is being reported that Tottenham Hotspur, who were interested in him back in January, might come back for him this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have played an excellent season but ended their campaign trophyless. They have a talismanic forward in Harry Kane but their backup option Fernando Llorente has not been up to the mark.
While Kane is the star forward and will be playing most matches up front, Spurs will need a stronger backup for him. The English season is long and should Kane suffer any injury, they will need another player to lead the line.

Rondon is physically dominant, knows the English league and is excellent in front of goal. He is a traditional number nine and should Spurs sign him, the player will definitely be able to help the team improve over the course of the season.
