New reports have again emerged that Rangers FC are reportedly looking to sign Liverpool winger, Harry Wilson on a season-long loan. The last report from a couple of days ago suggested that Rangers had begun discussions with Liverpool to bring Harry Wilson to Ibrox. Steven Gerrard is quite fond of the youngster, having seen him take the pitch at Anfield and wants to bring him to the Ibrox to spice up the offence. Wilson has earned rave reviews from his short-term association with Hull City.
The 21-year-old has chipped in with 7 goals and 4 assists in his 13 appearances for the Tigers last term, helping the team finish well away from the relegation zone. Very few players in the Championship outfit have been as effective as Wilson in the final stretch of the season and Nigel Adkins had expressed interest in keeping him for longer.
However, further talks have not progressed between the two clubs since then and Wilson is soon to arrive at Anfield. His future at Merseyside is questionable at the moment with established personas like Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain already in the squad.
In addition to the current scenario, Liverpool are hoping to reinvest their Coutinho-transfer-fee on an established wide man or a playmaker. Jurgen Klopp has also chosen to keep Ben Woodburn in the squad as a backup instead of Wilson, which could play a big part in sanctioning this transfer request from the Gers.
After all, another season of top-flight football will not help in the player’s development by warming the benches at Anfield. Liverpool are looking like solid contenders for the UEFA Champions League trophy this term as they are set to go up against the reigning champions, Real Madrid.
Rangers, on the other hand, have been quite embarrassingly upstaged by their domestic rivals, Celtic. Gerrard is looking to bring in a few high-profile names he personally knows of to help the team place a stronger challenge for the league title next season.
Wilson certainly seems to be a player who can flourish in the Scottish Premiership. His previous loan spell with Crewe Alexander did not prove to be as beneficial as this one as he appeared in just 7 games during his 4 months with the League One outfit. He is a highly rated prodigy to come out of the Liverpool youth ranks and needs the playing minutes to establish himself within the spectrum of English football.
The best way to do so is by cementing a spot in the first team and replicating the incredible form he displayed for the Liverpool U23 squad (32 goals and 14 assists in 60 games).

This will also increase his chances in the international stage now that the youngster has already been capped thrice by the Wales senior squad. So it can be said that the move might be beneficial for all parties involved.
